Stick Along for the Journey
It has been almost two weeks since we closed on the sale of our house. Honestly, it feels like an eternity ago! We are renting an RV and staying with friends. The past two weeks have sort of been a quiet respite. They have been busy, trying to figure out where everything is, but it’s been tossed into storage at the last moment of cleaning out the house while also making a pile of things we brought into the RV that we don't need. All the while the kids have kept busy with their imaginations to entertain them. I have been a little surprised how, for the most part, the transition has been so smooth. There have certainly been some moments where the transition has been hard, but for the most part the kids have been such a picture of flexibility. They have called our rental RV “home" for the past week, and it's a reminder to me that home is wherever we are together, not determined by what kind of shelter we are in.
We found the RV we want to purchase, and Matt is actually en route to pick it up as I type. We are so excited to get our home and get settled! I definitely want to share our journey as we put personal touches on it, figure out logistics of organizing a large family in a small space, and adjust our daily routine. Our homeschool year is beginning soon, and that is definitely going to involve tweaking from what we did in our house.
I just wanted to give a brief update and
I hope you stick along for the journey!
